Noida follows the UP road tax and is divided into three categories of vehicles. These are as follows: 

• For Two-wheelers: 2% to 8% of the cost of the vehicle

• For Four-wheelers: 3% to 9% of the cost of the vehicle

If you fail to follow these traffic regulations while driving, you will be subjected to penalties. You can make payments for these penalties online as well. Yes, it is mandatory to have vehicle insurance before you drive in Noida. The motor vehicle act of 1988 mandates all to have insurance before driving in Noida. The vehicle insurance starting expense is ₹3800. If you drive without insurance, ₹1000 for the following subsequent charges, and includes 3 months imprisonment. Further, it may also lead to driving licence suspension.

There have been multiple accidental deaths due to traffic issues in Noida. A recent incident took place in Greater Noida where an overtaking truck crashed into a group of hero workers, killing four and injuring three.

Another incident took place on Noida elevated road, where a car crashed killing a 25-year-old woman. The woman was travelling with five other friends, who were left injured. A recent report stated that a 40-year-old man died on the spot after his Mercedes crashed in the service lane divider. The car blew up into flames killing the man. 

Updated data from the National Crime Records Bureau, states that there have been 33,711 road accidents. These road accidents have recorded a total of 21,792 deaths in 2021 alone.

The Uttar Pradesh government has passed a sanction of ₹7.5 crores for the creation of road safety awareness in Noida. The Noida RTO observes road safety month from 5th January – 4 February 2023. The various events organised include the following:
