Ford Company Overview

In collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra, Ford Motors stepped into India in 1995 and manufactured the Escort model. The collaboration ended in 1998, but the brand continued independent operations from its plant in Chennai. It started introducing models like Ikon (Sedan) and expanded its portfolio across different segments over the years.

After facing challenges in the market, Ford decided to re-enter a collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra, which was again called off in 2020, which led to the cessation of Ford Motors in India in 2021.
