GSTR 1A: Eligibility, Format & Filing Procedure

What Is GSTR 1A?

When to File GSTR-1A?

GSTR-1A becomes available for filing after the later of either the due date or the actual filing date of GSTR-1 for a given tax period. It serves as a correction mechanism, allowing taxpayers to amend or add details that were missed in the original GSTR-1. Importantly, GSTR-1A must be filed before submitting GSTR-3B for the same tax period, as no changes can be made once GSTR-3B is filed.

There is no fixed number of days for this window; it simply spans the period between the filing of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. If no corrections are needed, GSTR-1A need not be filed, and nil filing is not permitted. This process ensures that accurate data flows into GSTR-3B, which is now auto-populated and non-editable.
