The validity of a driving licence in Madhya Pradesh is 20 years from its date of issue or till the holder turns 40. After this, the licence is renewable for 10 years and periods of 5 years subsequently. 

Additionally, a commercial vehicle licence in Madhya Pradesh is valid for 5 years, and that of vehicles carrying dangerous goods is for 3 years.    

In Madhya Pradesh, all driving licence holders get a 30-day grace period after the expiry date to apply for renewal. Applications within this period do not attract any extra charges. 

You just need to pay the ₹200 DL renewal fee.

In case you do not renew your driving licence within the 30-day grace period, you need to pay ₹300 for DL renewal. Post this time period, you need to pay a ₹1,000 fine for each year of delay after the grace period expiry date.

• Step 2: On the next page, choose “CITIZEN SERVICES – LEARNER LICENCE” and select Track License/ Application Detail.

• Step 3: Input Licence number/reference number and Date of Birth. Then click on “Search”.

You will find your application status displayed on the screen.

Sarathi Parivahan Portal

Follow the below-mentioned steps after visiting the Sarathi Parivahan Portal:

• Step 1: Choose your state from the drop-down menu.

• Step 2: On the next page, select “Application Status”.

• Step 3: Input Application Number, Date of Birth and the given captcha. Then click on “Submit”.

The screen will display your driving licence application status.
