The Andhra Pradesh traffic police are in line with the Government of India's amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 and have thus increased their efforts to enforce the strict rules and regulations, which has led to the increase in the issuance of e-challans for offences such as speeding, rash driving, drunk driving, and much more.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has developed an online e-challan system to simplify the payment process and make it convenient to pay their traffic fines with just a few clicks.

The e-Challan system has been Andhra Pradesh's mainstay in the digital transformation era, thus making it easier for the administrator of over 50 million people to issue and manage traffic violation challans. 

The e-Challan system allows offenders to check the status of the challan and make online payments easily. Thus, fines for ongoing traffic law offenders are prevented, making it a very user-friendly and efficient system for both the authorities and the citizens.

e-challans, also called electronic challans and due to modern technology, these digital challans are recorded through the CCTV cameras installed at the main traffic points. 

If you are found to have violated the traffic rules, the traffic police will check the footage you are in. Then, they will send you the e-challan with the specifications of the offence, the amount of the fine, and the vehicle information they obtained from the RTO database.

On the other hand, offenders get the e-challan notification by SMS or email, and thus, they can pay the fine online within 60 days of issuance. Traffic officers have handheld devices to issue and send e-challans, thereby quickly carrying out the entire operation and making it transparent.

It is best to regularly check the AP Traffic Police website to see if an e-Challan has been issued for an offence unknown to the offender. You can also check for e-challans issued via different methods, such as the Parivahan Government Portal, the AP e-challan website, and the Digit app.

• Step 1:Access the Parivahan e-Challan Platform:

To do this, visit the Parivahan website or download the Parivahan app from the Google Play Store or App Store.

• Step 2: Specify the Challan Details: 

Then, add the vehicle's registration, challan, or driving license numbers. You will also have to provide the captcha code for verification to ensure you are not a robot.

• Step 3: Retrieve Challan Information:

After entering the demanded data, the system will show the e-challan details: the offence, fine amount, and any other information related to the violation.

• Step 4: Take the Necessary Action:

If the violation is justified, you can pay the amount online through the specified payment gateway. If you are unsatisfied with the challan, you can also look for methods of disputing and redressal.

Another alternative way to check the e-Challan status is through the AP e-challan App.

• Step 1: Navigate to the Official Website of the AP  e-Challan payment portal.
• Step 2: Enter the registration number of your vehicle, which is subject to challan.

• Step 4: Then click on ‘Show details’, and after that, you can access the e-Challans issued against you.

You can pay your traffic e-challan in Andhra Pradesh by using the official portal of the Indian Government - Parivahan. Here are the steps to do so:

• Step 1: Visit the Parivahan e-Challan Website.
• Step 2: In the "Pay Online" part, put in your Driving License number, Challan number or Vehicle registration number.

• Step 2: The next step is to enter your vehicle's registration number and click "Get Details".

• Collect the necessary documents, such as your driving license, address proof, identity proof, and the challan or notice letter specifying the traffic violation for which you are being challenged.

• Once you've done this, proceed to the payment counter. Mark the appropriate payment counter at the police headquarters and hand over the required documents.
