When Were the New Traffic Fines Implemented in Bhopal?
Initially, the Madhya Pradesh government protested the implementation of new Bhopal traffic fines in 2019. The state government of Madhya Pradesh chose not to impose these fines, looking at their citizens. From March 2022, the Madhya Pradesh government has brought in new provisions regarding traffic fines in Bhopal.
As per the news, the states which did not implement the new traffic fines of 2019 have the most number of deadly road accidents. Since then, the government has changed their stance regarding the issue due to the increasing number of traffic accidents.
Have Traffic Fines Been Reduced in Bhopal?
Though new traffic fine rates in Madhya Pradesh have increased. They are not as steep as other states who follow the Revised Motor Vehicle Act of 2019. In Madhya Pradesh, the fine for a driver’s failure to stop a vehicle in line is ₹100 for the first and ₹300 for subsequent offences. Whereas the fine for the same violation in other states is ₹500.
