Overspeeding Fines and Challan in Maharashtra in 2026

Maharashtra is a top industrialised state of India situated in the Western peninsular region of India. Keeping up with rapid industrialisation the number of vehicles have also increased on the roads of Maharashtra  causing several traffic violations - typically overspeeding.

• For Medium Passenger or Good Motor Vehicles: As per the same section speeding a medium passenger or goods vehicle charges ₹2000 as a penalty.
• For Heavy Goods Motor Vehicles or HGMV: Driving vehicles like trucks and buses at an increased speed can lead to an overspeeding fine of ₹4000.
