Road Tax in Jind

Jind is one of the 22 districts of Haryana and follows the Haryana Road Tax such as:

2-Wheelers (depending on price range):

  • Up to Rs.75000: 4%

  • Between ₹75000 & ₹2 lakh: 6%

  • Exceeding ₹2 lakh: 8%

4-Wheelers (depending on price range):

  • Up to ₹6 lakh: 5%

  • Between ₹6 lakh & ₹20 lakh: 8%

  • Exceeding ₹20 lakh: 10%

Commercial Vehicles:

The Haryana state tax for a taxi is calculated at 2% of the vehicle cost.

  • Up to four seats: ₹600 quarterly

  • Between four & six seats: ₹625 quarterly

  • Between seven & twelve seats: ₹1450 quarterly

It is important to note that if any of these mentioned vehicles carry a sidecar, it is not considered eligible for tax.

Car insurance protects you from third-party liabilities and provides personal accident coverage.  Therefore, every vehicle owner must own valid car insurance. However, failing to produce one will lead to paying fines such as ₹2000 and/or 3 months in imprisonment, community service, for a first-time offence and ₹4000 for repeated violation.

As per news from the past 2 years, 24 places in the district were declared as black spots since there have been several accidents happening here causing the death of nearly 104 people. According to the police, most of these accidents took place around nighttime. However, traffic police were deployed in these areas to prevent road accidents.
