Step 1: Visit any nearby Aadhaar enrolment centre.

Step 2: Carry your acknowledgement slip and remember your URN when you visit the centre.

Step 3: You can provide your URN and request the person-in authority to check its status. 

Step 4: They will enter these details in their system and tell you the progress status of your correction or update request.

Another offline method to check the Aadhaar status with URN is by calling on UIDAI’s toll-free number, 1947.As you dial 1947, you will be taken to an IVR. You can follow these steps to know the current status of your Aadhaar update application using the Update Request Number. 

Step 1: Choose whichever language you prefer.

Step 2: Confirm if you have enrolled for Aadhaar.

Step 3: Go to the status menu.

Step 4: Ask more about Aadhaar updates.

What Are the Possible URN Status Results?

The three possible URN status results are:

  • Under Process: It indicates the changes still need to be approved. If you see your status is under process, check back in a few days.
  • Rejected: Your update request is cancelled, and you must apply again.
