Chief Minister’s Rajshree Yojana Scheme is a flagship social security scheme launched by the CM of Rajasthan in June 2016. The scheme’s objective is to improve a girl child’s literacy rate and look after their welfare. In this article, we will provide all the details about Rajshree Yojana, eligibility criteria, documents required, benefits and registration process.

In Rajasthan, there are numerous instances of a girl child being deprived of their basic right to education. There was no effective plan in its education system to bring back dropout girls from school. So, this Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana will develop all girl students from backward and low-income families by offering financial assistance for basic education.

This scheme’s main objective is to abolish child marriage and child mortality in society. This scheme aims to improve the girl child ratio and promotes education for girls in the state of Rajasthan. Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana has been implemented in both urban and rural areas of the state.

Mentioned below is the eligibility criteria of this scheme.

• Any girl child who is born after 1 June 2016.
• A girl child must be a native or resident of Rajasthan.
• Institutional Delivery of a girl child in government or private medical institutions registered with Janani Suraksha Yojana or JSY.
• Only 2 girl children in a family are eligible. However, parents are eligible to receive the first 2 instalments for a third girl child.
• The girl child’s mother must possess a Bhamashah Card.

Mentioned here are the required documents to avail of benefits under this scheme.

• A girl child’s birth certificate.
• Bhamashah card required by the child's mother.
• Duly filled application form.
• Required ID proofs like – Driving License, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, and Voter ID Card.
• Also, required address proofs like – Passport, Aadhaar Card, Property Tax and Utility bill, Telephone bill, etc.
• Photographs (Passport-size).
• Statement of a bank account.
• 12th standard certificate and college admission certificates.

This scheme offers various benefits to a girl child from a low-income group. There are various benefits that come with this scheme. Financial assistance of up to ₹ 50,000 gets offered to a girl child’s parents. This financial assistance covers a beneficiary’s health, care, and education. Check the benefits as mentioned below.

• ₹ 2,500 during the birth of girl child
• ₹ 2,500 on completing one year that includes completing scheduled vaccination
• On admitting to standard 1, ₹ 4,000 is provided
• ₹ 5,000 after admission in class 6
• On admission in 10th class, ₹ 11,000 is provided
• ₹ 25,000 after passing 12th standard

Eligible applicants can apply to Mukhyamantri Rajshree Yojana through an online application process once this window is available on the official portal.

To apply for the Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana, applicants will have to follow the step-by-step procedure given below -

• Visit a government hospital and contact a health officer in charge of the particular district or Taluka of Rajasthan to start an application process. Alternatively, eligible applicants can also reach out to either Zilla Parishad, Collector’s Office, Gram Panchayat, or the Education Officer.
• Collect a Rajshree Yojana application form and duly fill it in. Submit this form to an appropriate authority.

The concerned authority will then verify this application form. It is necessary to fill this form with utmost care so as to avoid any cancellation of any application. Finally, a concerned Tehsil Officer will certify all the documents of an applicant and send them to the District Welfare Officer for certifying an application form.

After application form submission, a beneficiary will receive an acknowledgement on the same for further reference.

Chief Minister Rajshree Yojana Scheme thus aims to provide financial assistance to a girl child to cover her education needs. So far, those from economically backward class have reaped benefits from this scheme. Thus, this scheme is in tandem with PM Modi’s “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojna”.
