NIPUN Bharat Mission 2025: Objectives, Features & Benefits

What Is NIPUN Bharat Mission?

What is FLN in NIPUN?

The National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy is the national mission of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), which refers to children's capacity to read comprehensively and solve simple mathematical problems by class 3.

Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), comprised of Foundational Language and Literacy and Foundational Numeracy, has been assigned the highest priority by NEP 2020.

Foundational Literacy/Languages

Building literacy abilities in languages is aided by prior language understanding. The following table shows the main elements of Foundational Language and Literacy:

Basis Description
Oral Communication Evolution includes enhanced oral vocabulary, increased conversational skills, and better listening comprehension. Oral language experiences also depend on the development of reading and writing skills.
Decoding Decoding is the process of reading printed words by figuring out how symbols and sounds relate to one another.
Reading Fluency Reading fluency is the capacity to read a text accurately, quickly (automaticity), expressively (prosody), and comprehensible so that young readers can derive meaning from it. Although many kids know aksharas (alphabets), reading them one by one is time-consuming.
Reading Comprehension It involves applying critical thought to a text and deriving meaning from it. This domain covers the competencies of comprehending texts, extracting information from them, and interpreting texts.
Writing This domain covers the skills necessary to write words and aksharas and writing for expressive purposes.

Foundational Numeracy

The ability to reason and use basic arithmetic principles to solve problems in daily life is known as foundational numeracy. The following table shows the main features and elements of early mathematics:

Basis Description
Pre-Number Concepts Recognise and count the number system.
Numbers and their Operations Acquire the knowledge of conventions necessary for mastering mathematical concepts, such as how to represent numbers using the base ten system.
Forms and Space Recognising Complete basic calculations on their own, including up to three-digit figures, and apply them to various situations in their daily lives.
Measu rement Comprehend and apply conventional methods to do addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on integers up to three digits.
Data Handling Recognise and expand on basic patterns, such as recurring shapes or numerical patterns, and apply basic data interpretation to day-to-day operations.

Who Are the Beneficiaries of NIPUN Bharat Yojana Mission?

What is the Objective of NIPUN Bharat?

The NIPUN Bharat was launched with various objectives in mind. The Government of India aims to provide quality education to all children from their formative years. Follow the table below to read the objectives of NIPUN Bharat:

Objective Description
To ensure an inclusive classroom environment By incorporating play, discovery, and activity-based pedagogies, linking it to the children's daily life situations and formally including children’s home languages, play, exploration, and activity-based pedagogies are connected to the children's everyday lives.
To focus on continuous capacity building Of teachers, head teachers, academic resource persons, and education administrators.
Enhancing Numeracy and Spatial Skills To help kids grasp the rationale behind numbers, measurements, and shapes and provide them with the numeracy and spatial comprehension skills necessary to solve problems independently.
Culturally Sensitive Instructional Materials To guarantee the availability and efficient application of superior, culturally sensitive instructional materials in the children's mother tongue(s).
Professional Development for Educators To concentrate on ongoing professional development for educators, including head teachers, academic resource people, and education administrators.
Community Engagement and Collaboration To actively collaborate with legislators and other relevant parties, including educators, parents, students, and the community, to lay a solid basis for lifelong learning.
Comprehensive Assessment Practices To make sure that learning is assessed "as, of, and for" it through oral presentations, short tests, projects, role plays, games, portfolios, group and collaborative work, quizzes, and so on.
Tracking Learning Progress To guarantee that each student's learning progress is tracked.
