Indiranagar RTO Office - Bangalore East

Indiranagar is a hub in Bangalore for young crowds who like to party and eat out. You can find countless cafes, restaurants, and microbreweries in this area. As you may infer, this is a lively locality, and it remains crowded almost every time. 

The only RTO in Indiranagar, KA 03, thus has a very important role in implementing proper road safety measures and maintaining an effective road transport system.

There are many functions of the RTO in Indiranagar. It works according to the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988.

In Indiranagar RTO, the officials follow Bangalore Road Tax and apply the same. Every vehicle owner is liable to pay this amount without fail. The state then uses this fund to improve the roads, develop traffic infrastructure, etc.

• For Three-Wheelers: ₹2500

• For Four-Wheelers: 4% to 93% of the vehicle cost

• For Commercial Vehicles: 4% to 93% of the vehicle cost

Violation of traffic rules in Indiranagar can lead to extreme penalisation. It can be in any form, traffic fines, driving licence seizure, or even court time. The traffic police and the RTO authority charge this as per the revised traffic fines in Bangalore.

The Motor Vehicle Act of 1988 states that it is mandatory to have motor insurance when driving anywhere in India. It further states to at least own a third-party liability cover. Moreover, if you are a resident of such a busy area like Indiranagar, where road accidents are common, you must buy motor vehicle insurance as per your requirements.  

In recent news, it has been highlighted that Amit Shah would be visiting Bangalore. Hence the traffic policies suggest avoiding some of the popular roads, including Indiranagar 100 feet road and junctions on 23rd and 24th February 2023. 

A few years ago, there was a severe accident in Indiranagar. As per the report, an overspeeding Mercedes knocked off 6 vehicles on 80 feet road in Indiranagar. In this accident, a 43-year-old male died, and four people were injured.

In January 2023, a Road Safety Week campaign was held at the KFC junction in Indiranagar. It was a joint initiative by Namma Bengaluru Foundation, 56 Secure, Bengaluru Traffic Police and Traffic Wardens Organisation. The campaign focused on the theme of “Swachhata Pakhwada”, and its aim was to propagate causes to create safe roads for all. This news was covered by the Bangalore Mirror.

The New Indian Express published a story about an initiative by RED FM Bengaluru, “Second Chance Nahi Milega”. They spread awareness to helmetless riders across the city. In this campaign, a person dressed as Lord Ganesha along with the RED FM team visited popular traffic junctions like Indiranagar to identify traffic offenders. They were made to do sit-ups as a symbolic act of asking for forgiveness from Ganesha. In addition, riders who were seen without helmets were given free helmets.
