• Driving without a licence: Between₹1000 to ₹5000

• Blocking the path of emergency vehicles: ₹1000

Yes, it is mandatory to have motor insurance while driving in Yelahanka. Driving without having valid vehicle insurance makes the owners subject to penalties. It may sometimes also lead to imprisonment. 

Penalty charges for driving without proper insurance are between ₹1000 to ₹4000.

• An accident of a bike crashing against barriers resulted in the death of one leaving the other critically injured. According to reports, the accident occurred because of overspeeding. The driver was riding at a speed of 120 kmph. 

• According to a report, cases of death due to potholes in the city of Bangalore are seemingly increasing. A car lost control while trying to drive past a pothole filled with rainwater and crashed with a bike coming from the opposite direction in Yelahanka. The pillion rider suffered severe head injuries and later succumbed to death while the driver was undergoing treatment. 

A road safety campaign was launched by Rapido in association with the Bangalore traffic police. The bike taxi service company started a campaign by organising road safety campaigns in the major traffic signals of Bangalore. The campaign included interactive sessions, a demonstration of road safety measures and the distribution of materials for road safety. 

A road safety campaign was started at St. Joseph’s School (CBSE) on Vittal Mallya Road. More than 50 students from the school were out on the road holding placards with different road safety messages.
