Can My Family Visit Me If I'm Hospitalized When Travelling Abroad?

Yes, they can! And your Travel Insurance can help make this happen!

Say you've been on a solo trip abroad and you've gone hiking. Mid-hike, you met with an accident, and now you must be hospitalized for more than ten days. We understand that in difficult times like this, what could boost your morale is having family around you.

In your Travel insurance plan, one can opt to have a family member with you through a cover known as the Compassionate Family Visit Cover.

What does this Cover Mean?

Compassionate Family Visit is a cover that allows a family member to visit you in times of need. Simply put, it is a cover that lets the family stick together. We understand that in times of despair and medical emergencies, we all need our family members beside us. This gives us hope and support to recover faster.

During your international trip, this cover can act like a warm hug, in the unexpected event of accidents or hospitalization. With this unique and beneficial cover, you can have one family member visit you if such attendance is necessary in the opinion of a medical practitioner.

How does Compassionate Family Visit Work?

In the event of accidental hospitalization, your doctors suggest that a family member accompany you during your recovery. The compassionate family visit benefit in your travel insurance policy comes into effect.

You simply need to acquire approval from a medical professional stating that the presence of the family member is necessary. With that, you need not worry about their travel or stay expenses. We got you covered!

This cover is included in almost all travel insurance policies. Buying your travel insurance from Digit (Digit On the Move Policy) comes with an inclusive cover for Compassionate Visit.
