What is a Cashless Network Hospital?
A cashless network hospital is a hospital that is part of your health insurer’s network. This simply means that if you claim at these hospitals for your treatment, you can opt for a cashless claim, i.e. go ahead with your treatment without paying any cash upfront.
When you get treated at a network hospital and opt for cashless claims, the bills will be directly taken care of between the network hospital and your health insurer.

How to Make a Cashless Claim at a Digit Network Hospital?
Imagine being in a medical emergency where every second counts, and instead of worrying about bills and paperwork, you get instant access to treatment, cashless and stress-free. That’s the advantage of Digit’s network hospitals! 🙂 Here is how you can make a cashless claim with ease:
From the Digit cashless network hospital list above, choose the hospital where you wish to be treated.
Please let your health insurer(us) know at least 72 hours in advance if you’re going for a planned hospitalisation and within 24 hours in case of an emergency.
At the network hospital helpdesk, present your e-health card and valid ID proof and request Digit’s cashless claim form.
Complete and submit the cashless request form to the hospital.
Once you’ve filled in the form and everything is in place, your cashless claim will be processed at the hospital.
Tip: Always check whether the treatment you’re going to opt for is covered or not in your health insurance policy, and by how much so during the hospitalisation and cashless claim process- there are no last-minute surprises and delays!
How Does a Digit Network Hospital Work?
Network hospitals usually have a tie-up with your health insurer, ultimately allowing you to opt for cashless claims.
Hence, health insurance is important because you don’t have to worry about payments during stressful times.
Network hospitals work primarily in two ways when it comes to cashless claims: in case of a planned hospitalisation and in case of a medical emergency. Here is how they work:
Planned Hospitalisation
Say you have hospitalisation for treatment or need to undergo a daycare procedure, and you’ve scheduled your hospitalisation for a particular date due to the same:
- In this case, you should let your health insurer know at least 72 hours in advance so that the claim processing can start on time and you can get any required approvals on time.
- Post this, just when you need to get admitted to the hospital, you will have to show your e-health card at the network hospital desk, get your cashless claim form filled out, and you’re good to go.
- In the case of planned hospitalisation, it’s always better to complete any formalities beforehand to avoid any delays in treatment.
Medical Emergencies
Sometimes, medical emergencies arise when we least expect them! In this case, it’s impossible to have a planned hospitalisation, but you scan:
- Let your health insurer know within 24 hours if you want to go for a cashless claim at a network hospital.
- Display your health e-card and a valid identity proof at the network hospital desk, and fill out any required cashless claim form.
- The hospital immediately starts the treatment without waiting for upfront payments and the insurer settles medical expenses directly with the hospital.

You must have a few important documents when visiting a cashless hospital in India. With no upfront fees, this procedure makes your hospital stay easy and hassle-free. The documents include:

How to Claim if No Digit Network Hospital is Nearby?
We hope that never happens, but if it does – you can instead opt for a reimbursement claim at any other hospital of your choice. Here is how to go about a reimbursement claim:
Notify your insurer (us) about the hospitalisation, usually within 48 hours of your admission into the hospital
Receive medical treatment at any hospital you choose and pay all medical expenses, out of pocket.
Collect all necessary documents like hospital bills, discharge summaries, prescriptions, diagnostic reports and a completed claim form.
Compile all documents and submit them to the insurance company or the third-party administrator (TPA) within the timeline specified in your policy.
Once we receive all documents, we will verify and process the claim and reimburse the required amount if the documents are correct.
Digit’s Policy on Excluded Hospitals for Planned Medical Treatment
To improve our customer experience and bring transparency to our claims process, here is a list of hospitals marked as excluded. This is prepared based on treatment/claims experience from these hospitals. Please note that the Company will not be able to entertain cashless or reimbursement claims for planned/pre-planned treatment received at these hospitals.
This is with a view to reduce the element of fraud and misrepresentation and ensure that we are able to serve genuine claims. However, any claim pertaining to emergency treatment received at these hospitals shall be considered on merits. Digit reserves the right to verify complete documents before the decision in the claim in case of such a claim for emergency treatment.
