Guide to Download Universal Travel Pass

With the rapid spread of Coronavirus causing a pandemic, governments tried to incorporate social distancing by announcing lockdown. However, as the situation improved, they lifted only certain restrictions, and the transport system was one of these. In the wake of a COVID Pandemic Third Wave, the Maharashtra Government introduced an online Universal Travel Pass Registration Form 2022. This pass enables individuals to travel even under the COVID restrictions.

Now that you know what a universal travel pass is, let us look at its functions. Various restrictions, such as night and weekend curfew, have been mandated with a third wave. This makes it difficult for regular citizens to travel. The Maharashtra Government has issued the QR code Epass services, enabling you to apply for a travel pass.

The Government has divided the establishments into different categories based on the nature of businesses. People dealing with essential services like medicine, utility and education can travel and go to work once they download a universal travel pass.

Now that you know its basic concept, you must be wondering how to get a universal travel pass? However, before understanding the steps, find out if you are eligible for applying for a travel pass. You must be working for important sectors, including medical, education or utility services. Furthermore, you should have all the documents necessary for your registration. 

Finally, the question is how to download a universal travel pass? This entire process is online, so you need access to a computer and the internet. You must register yourself on the portal first before downloading your travel pass. The following steps will be helpful.

• Step 1: Visit the official portal of Universal Travel Pass (UTP). Click on “Universal Travel Pass”.
• Step 2: Click on the “Register your Establishment” link on the new page. It will open a new registration form.
• Step 3: Fill this form with accurate data, including your name, address, contact number, business type, category, etc.
• Step 4: Once you fill out this form, click on the "Register" button.

After you have completed your registration on this portal, you will be able to download your travel pass with the following steps.

• Step 1: Visit the official portal of Universal Travel Pass (UTP). From the Home page, click on “Universal Travel Pass”. 
• Step 2: Click on the “Download Travel Pass” link.
• Step 3: When a new page opens, enter your mobile number. It will generate a One-Time Password (OTP) on your number. 
• Step 4: Enter this OTP to verify your mobile number. Next, you will have to upload your photograph.  
• Step 5: This will generate your UTP. Click on the “Print Pass” button. It will download and print your travel pass.

Hopefully, now you know how to make a universal travel pass. However, the process does not end there. The following documents are required for a universal travel pass. You should be able to produce these while completing your registration.

• Voter ID 
• Aadhaar card 
• Registration certificate 
• Registered company details 
• Industrial papers

The residents of Maharashtra will be able to travel freely even under COVID restrictions using this pass.
