RTO Kushinagar

Kushinagar, a place with remarkable historical significance to the Buddhists, is situated on the northeastern front of Uttar Pradesh. Lately, the state government has been taking prompt steps in organising the traffic flow of this city as the roads have been experiencing 20% more foreign tourists visiting the pilgrimage compared to preceding years. 

To further hasten the process, the Kushinagar RTO office, with code UP-57, is monitoring and enforcing the initiatives on the registered drivers.

Kushinagar’s RTO office will provide you with these services:

You can visit the Kushinagar RTO to fetch three types of vehicle registration certificate:

• Temporary registration certificate

• Permanent registration certificate

• Duplicate registration certificate

If you lost the one issued earlier, you must apply for a duplicate registration certificate. To apply, you have to head to the Parivahan Sewa portal and execute the necessary steps by selecting the Kushinagar RTO office option.

Vehicle registration is mandated as per the MV Act (1998). Thus, if you are caught not carrying a valid soft/ hard copy of the RC, then the police may seize your vehicle by law.

Police authorities have imposed revised traffic fines on vehicle riders/ drivers in Kushinagar who disobey the rules. New regulations came into effect in September 2019, and the RTO of Kushinagar follows the new structure of UP traffic fines. These are some of the violations that will cost you more for not abiding by them:

• Drunk driving: ₹10,000

• Juvenile Offences: ₹25,000 along with 3 years of confinement

• Overspeeding: ₹1,000 to ₹4,000

• Violating road regulations: ₹500 to ₹1,000

• Driving/ riding while on call: ₹5,000

The Motor Vehicles Act of 1998 states that it is prohibited to drive without automobile insurance. For all motor vehicles to be lawfully driven in India, third-party liability insurance is required.

Several accidental deaths are reported each year in Kushinagar due to an excessively busy traffic flow in this part of India. For instance, PM Narendra Modi recently announced ₹2 Lakhs ex-gratia following an unfortunate road accident that killed almost 13 people who were travelling to a wedding event.
